I would like to know if it's safe to invest in Real Estate in this area, any locals here who would like to share some information with me regarding this one.

Maybe it is safe. I ask my friend, who went there; he said that you should have to go there to find out, although he commented that it is ok to do so.
Real Estate is booming in Costa Rica, it's a good choice if you push with your plan.

That is a good idea actually, are you preparing on where to stay/live after retiring from work?
Yes investing in Costa Rica is a good idea. but if i were you, you have to stay in Costa Rica to monitor your property or investment.
I love Costa Rica and i like to have my own resort there someday.

That is a pretty good idea celeste, the best place I can refer you is with in the tourist spot area like beaches and etc. You can try in Jaco or in Guanacaste.
Investing through real estate is a good business, you can really see where you're money is going and you will have more profit through it. It's just you have to invest big time and it's not easy to maintain a business this big.
Real estate business in Costa Rica I think is a good catch. The place is a paradise in the making. Many would invest this place especially that it still laid back and there are still a lot of virgin places that they will really enjoy. But it will also be a big adjustment for those who are used to city life.
If you plan to invest, you should take a risk, the place is great to put up a business like Real Estate. Go on with your plan.
