I would suggest that you will take the kids in the parks, museums, and beaches. How old are they?

You can visit Carara National Park Hiking. It has a child friendly environment.

Museums sure would be nice to get your children educated while spending your vacation with your family and there are also other places you can visit where your children can have fun like the beach and zoo.
